FISH AND CHIPS IN BARBECUE SAUCE

Here is another one of the "Salu-Salo Meals" DEL MONTE has concocted to suit a family of 5 could afford; for only 80pesos, they can have a nutritious and delicious meal.


 

INGREDIENTS

1/4kg fish slices

250g potatoes, sliced

¼ plus 1/8 tsp pepper


 

FOR THE MARINADE

1 (90g) pouch of DEL MONTE Filipino Style Tomato Sauce

3 cloves garlic crushed

½ tsp minced ginger

1 tsp brown sugar

½ tsp calamansi juice


 

PROCEDURE

  1. Season fish with salt and pepper. Combine with marinade. Marinate fish for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. Pan-grill fish in 3 tbsp oil until cooked on both sides. Set aside. Reserve pan to cook potatoes later.
  3. Season potatoes with 1/8 tsp salt. Deep-fry until cooked. Transfer to reserved pan, and then stir to mix with the sauce. Serve with fish. Makes 5 servings.
